DIR in Pakistan

Presently, DIR is providing a Consultant who is a Co-Director of an evaluation being conducted by UNDP of an innovative Pakistani quasi-government program for improving health care and educational services in poorer communities. 

Immediately after the October 2005 earthquake which caused extensive devastation and the loss of 81,000 lives in Pakistan alone, DIR’s CEO want to Kashmir with his Administrative Assistant and provided assistance to the national government.  They traveled extensively in disaster areas, assessing damage and assisting the government develop policies for providing assistance, relief and rehabilitation.

During that time they worked in the Prime Minister’s executive office and worked with the Ministry of Human Development.

DIR donors provided 235 stoves and 364 blankets which were immediately supplied to people who had lost their homes and possessions and were living in tents.
